We stayed in the heart of Geneva, which made it easy to explore the city and experience its unique blend of history, culture, and science. The program included a wide range of activities, from a guided city tour to a chocolate-making workshop, which offered a fun and distinctly Swiss experience. One of the most memorable highlights was visiting CERN, where we were able to learn about groundbreaking scientific research firsthand. We also enjoyed a traditional fondue dinner, which was a great way to connect as a group in a relaxed setting.
Academically, the midstay was equally enriching. We had the chance to present our own research and share the work we have been doing during our time abroad, which created a valuable space for intellectual exchange and reflection. Visiting the University of Geneva’s Brain and Behavior Lab was another standout experience, as we were able to engage with the technology and gain insight into ongoing research in the field.
Outside of the organized program, we took advantage of our free time to further explore Geneva. Highlights included visiting the botanical gardens, seeing the United Nations, and taking a water taxi across Lake Geneva, all of which added to the overall experience of the city.
Overall, the midstay was a thoughtful and enriching experience that combined academic growth with cultural exploration. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with others in the program, reflect on our experiences so far, and feel re-energized for the rest of our time abroad. I am incredibly grateful for the work that went into planning this trip and the opportunities that this program has provided!
